ReelDiary is designed as a private, local records app.

Summary

Local records

Depending on the features you use, ReelDiary stores media facts you enter, dated events, ratings, notes, lists, reviews, tags, episode and reading progress, quote cards, physical-edition and lending records, user-recorded shelf figures, stats snapshots, original-language fields, and translations. Generated cover tiles and temporary sample data are also local.

The Delete all data / reset action removes the local vault. Interactive IAP samples use separate synthetic containers and delete them when the sample closes. They do not read or modify the user's real vault.

User-selected files

ReelDiary accesses a file only after you select it through a macOS open or save panel:

The app does not scan Photos, arbitrary folders, the camera, or the microphone.

Translation

On supported macOS versions, Foreign Cinema & Library can pass text you select to Apple's system Translation framework. ReelDiary stores the returned text locally beside the original. Required language resources are managed by macOS; ReelDiary does not operate a translation server or receive a network entitlement.

Catalog and artwork

The title catalog is bundled factual metadata and searched offline. No posters, covers, media, or external database payloads are fetched. Visual cover tiles are drawn by ReelDiary.

In-app purchases

Apple processes purchases and restores through the App Store. ReelDiary receives the entitlement result needed to unlock a product. bee2.io does not receive or store payment-card details. Apple's own privacy policy governs App Store data.

Children

ReelDiary does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because the app collects no user data.
