Privacy Policy - Department of the Impossible
Scope
This policy applies to the Department of the Impossible iOS and Android applications. It does not apply to visits to the bee2.io website. If you open a link from Department of the Impossible in a browser, the separate bee2.io Website Privacy Policy applies to that website visit.
Information Department of the Impossible stores locally
Department of the Impossible is a local-first bureaucratic comedy story game. It stores the information needed to operate on your device, inside its app sandbox. That can include your place in the thirty cases, every decision you have made so that you can return to any of them, the state of the office you are changing by filing, your reading settings such as language and text size, accessibility and sound settings, whether you have seen the opening sequence, the local record of your unlock, and a local diagnostic log.
Department of the Impossible does not upload this information to bee2.io. It has no account system and no bee2.io game server.
Information we do not collect through the app
Department of the Impossible does not include advertising, app analytics, crash reporting to bee2.io, tracking SDKs, or a bee2.io network service. We do not receive your story choices, save data, device activity, or an advertising identifier from the app.
The app works with no network connection. It makes no outbound request of its own at any point.
Purchases and restoring a purchase
Department of the Impossible uses Apple StoreKit on iOS and Google Play Billing on Android, and only when you choose to make a purchase or restore a prior one. Apple or Google processes the transaction under its own terms and privacy practices. Department of the Impossible does not collect your payment-card information. Once the store confirms a purchase or restoration, the app records the resulting entitlement locally on your device.
Links you choose to open
The app can open bee2.io in your device's browser when you choose the in-app link. Department of the Impossible does not fetch that site itself. Any browser visit is governed by the privacy policy of the destination website.
Children
Department of the Impossible is not directed to children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children, and it has no account system, no messaging, and no user-to-user features.
Your choices
You can start over from the title screen or from Settings, which replaces the saved case file. Those actions affect local game data on your device. Removing the app removes the data it stored on the device. Purchase history and device backups are managed by the platform and its store, not by Department of the Impossible.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if Department of the Impossible's data practices change. The current version is posted at this address with its effective date.
