This Privacy Policy covers the GlowGauge app and every tool/module within it (including a local cosmetic skin-progress diary with guided photo capture, image-quality checks, relative appearance signals, zone comparison, routines, reminders, notes, trends, and user-initiated report export). GlowGauge is a consumer cosmetic self-tracking tool that runs on your device.
GlowGauge is local-first: the app's features run on your device and the content you create (settings, saved projects, logs, results) stays on your device - we do not operate accounts or servers for it, and we never receive, sell, or rent the content you create. The free, ad-supported version shows advertisements served by Google AdMob, a third-party ad service that collects a limited set of device and advertising information to deliver and measure ads (see Section 4). Buying the All Access unlock (or, where offered, the separate Remove Ads option) permanently removes the ads (unlocking a single tool does not). Apart from that advertising, we do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.
We do not ask for or collect your name, email, contacts, precise identity, selected photos, face landmarks, biometric identifiers, cosmetic signals, notes, routines, health records, or location. We operate no server that receives such data. Any data the app creates is stored locally on your device and remains under your control. The one exception is the limited information the advertising service collects in the free version, described in Section 4 - that information is collected by Google, not by us, and does not include your name, email, or the content you create in the app.
The system photo picker gives GlowGauge access only to a photo you select; it does not grant general photo-library access. If you choose Take Photo, the app requests camera permission and uses the front camera only for the capture you initiate. Selected and captured photos, temporary face landmarks, quality checks, and relative cosmetic signals are processed on your device. Face landmarks are used only to align regions for self-comparison; they are not used to identify or authenticate anyone, infer protected traits, or create a face database. Optional notification permission is used only to schedule the local routine reminders you configure. You can decline or revoke camera and notification access; photo-picker import and non-reminder features remain available. Photos, landmarks, scores, notes, routines, and reports are never uploaded to or received by bee2.io. The only other capability the app holds is standard network access, used to load ads in the free version and for the store purchase flow - not to transmit the content you create to us.
The free version of GlowGauge displays ads through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK), provided by Google LLC. To serve, cap, and measure ads, the AdMob SDK and Google may collect and process a limited set of information as an independent third party, which may include: a mobile advertising identifier (the Android Advertising ID, or on iOS the IDFA where you permit it), your IP address and a coarse/approximate location derived from it, device and app information (device model, operating-system version, language, and similar technical data), and ad-interaction data (which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped). Google uses this to deliver ads, limit repetition, prevent fraud and abuse, and measure performance.
- Personalized vs. non-personalized ads. Where required by law (for example in the EEA and UK), we present Google's consent request through Google's User Messaging Platform before personalized ads are shown; if you do not consent, ads are non-personalized. On iOS, personalized ads and use of the IDFA require your permission under App Tracking Transparency; if you decline or are not asked, ads are non-personalized.
- Your controls. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and → Apple Advertising), and you can manage Google ad personalization at https://adssettings.google.com. The simplest way to remove ads is to buy All Access (or the Remove Ads option, where offered), which disables advertising in the app.
- Google's role. This information is collected and used by Google under Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Google's advertising terms (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads). We do not control, and are not responsible for, Google's data practices, and we do not receive the advertising data Google collects.
Optional one-time in-app purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or receive your payment-card details. The app stores only a local record that an item was unlocked; buying All Access (or the Remove Ads option, where offered) also removes ads (unlocking a single tool does not). Your purchase data is handled under Apple's and Google's own privacy policies.
The app uses the standard network permission to load ads in the free version and for the store purchase/restore flow; it does not send the content you create to us, and its core features work offline once ads are removed or unavailable. Separately, your device's operating system and the app store you used (Apple or Google) may independently collect crash logs, diagnostics, or aggregate usage information under their own privacy policies; that processing is outside our control and is not shared with us.
GlowGauge provides Delete All Data in Settings. That control erases the local journal, copied photos, notes, routines, reminder settings, cached analysis, and app preferences from the app sandbox. Store purchases remain associated with Apple or Google and may be restored. You can also clear app storage in device settings or uninstall the app. The app does not require or offer an account, so there is no remote account to delete. To reset advertising data held by Google, use the device ad-identifier controls in Section 4.
GlowGauge is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and ads are requested with a maximum content rating intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not enable interest-based advertising directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact [email protected].
In the free version, the advertising service may collect identifiers (a mobile advertising ID and IP address) and internet/app activity (ad interactions) as described in Section 4, for the purpose of showing and measuring ads. We do not collect this ourselves and we do not sell your personal information for money. However, allowing a third-party advertising partner to use an advertising identifier for personalized ads may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. You can opt out of that "sharing" by (a) declining the consent/tracking prompt where shown, (b) turning off or limiting the advertising ID in your device settings, or (c) buying All Access (or the Remove Ads option, where offered), which removes ads entirely. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16, we do not use the information for any purpose beyond the advertising described here, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.
For the app's on-device features we hold no personal data about you to access, correct, port, or delete. For the free-version advertising, bee2.io LLC and Google process the limited data described in Section 4; where consent is the lawful basis (personalized ads in the EEA/UK), you may withdraw consent at any time via the in-app privacy/consent option or your device ad settings, and non-personalized ads will be shown instead. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority. To exercise any right with us, email [email protected]; for data held by Google, see Google's Privacy Policy (Section 4).
The content you create stays on your device and is protected by your device's own security (passcode, encryption, sandboxing). No internet transmission is ever completely secure; because the app does not transmit the content you create, that risk is minimized. Advertising traffic is handled by Google over its own secure connections.
The app processes the content you create locally on your device wherever you are. Advertising data in the free version may be processed by Google on servers in the United States and other countries under Google's Privacy Policy and its data-transfer safeguards; we do not carry out those transfers.
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
