The short version

Cookbook Vault collects nothing for bee2.io, sends nothing to an app-owned server, and needs no account. Recipes and workspaces stay on your Mac. We cannot see them because there is no service for the app to upload them to.

Data collection

None. Cookbook Vault includes no analytics, telemetry sent to us, third-party advertising identifier, tracking code, account system, or third-party crash reporter. We do not know who you are or which recipes you keep.

Data stored on your Mac

The app stores recipes, ingredients, steps, tags, favorites, recipe photos, grocery lists, plans, pantry records, translation workspaces, kitchen profiles, cookbook projects/export history, and cook history in its local app container.

Selected recipe photos may be copied into the private media folder. Originals are never moved, changed, or deleted.
Selected import sources and label images are read for on-device review. Source media is not retained unless you separately choose it as recipe media.
Diagnostics are bounded local event names and non-identifying counters. They exclude recipe text, notes, grocery lines, source contents, and full paths.
Interactive samples use new temporary databases and generated content. They cannot read the real library and are deleted after the sample closes.

Network and system services

Cookbook Vault has no network entitlement and makes no request to a bee2.io server. App Store purchases and restores are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy terms; bee2.io receives no recipe content through StoreKit.

Global Kitchen uses Apple's system Translation framework. macOS may need to install a language model under the user's system settings. Cookbook Vault does not operate that download, has no app network entitlement, and does not send the recipe to a bee2.io service. The interactive translation sample uses a local deterministic result and does not initiate a model download.

Permissions

Microphone and speech recognition: requested only after an owner of Cook Mode Pro explicitly starts live voice control. Recognition is configured to require on-device processing with no cloud fallback. Audio is used for the active command session and is not stored in cook history.
Files: import and export use system file panels. The Mac App Store sandbox grants access only to items the user selects and app-scoped bookmarks.
Camera and location: not requested. Pantry label review uses an existing user-selected image and does not open a live camera.
Display wake: basic cook mode uses a system power assertion that needs no personal-data permission.

Sample mode disables live microphone capture and external file/photo sources.

Nutrition

Nutrition estimates are calculated locally from entered ingredient amounts and an offline USDA-derived common-ingredient reference. Recipe content is not sent to USDA. Unmatched lines are reported as missing coverage rather than uploaded.

Your control

Export a complete JSON backup and supported PDFs at any time.
Remove individual records through their normal workspace actions.
Use Settings Delete all data / reset to remove application tables and copied media from the Mac.
Because there is no cloud copy, deletion cannot be undone by bee2.io. Export a backup first if you want to keep the data.

Children

Cookbook Vault is a general-audience cooking application and knowingly collects no data from anyone, including children.
